Monty C. Pritchett | Tulsa Estate Planning Attorney

Monty Pritchett has practiced law in Tulsa since 1992.

He grew up in Dallas and attended Texas Tech University. He came to law after a career in business, and that background still shapes how he practices: a working understanding of how a company actually runs, what a balance sheet is telling you, and what an owner is worried about at two in the morning.

He earned his law degree from the University of Tulsa School of Law and has spent his career on the legal problems that follow business owners and their families: forming and structuring companies, resolving tax matters with the IRS and the Oklahoma Tax Commission, protecting assets, and planning estates so that what a client built survives them.

Monty — known to most people as Cutter — is active in the Tulsa community. Outside the office he shoots sporting clays, plays golf, and spends as much time as he can upland hunting and fly fishing.

“When a business owner or family sits across the table, they don't want textbook theories. They want someone who understands how real companies operate and who will give them straight, practical guidance.”

Our Standard

How We Approach Every Client Matter

We start with a conversation

The first meeting is about understanding your situation, not selling you a document package. By the end of it you should know what you are facing, what your realistic options are, and what each one involves.

Law you can understand

If you leave a meeting unsure what was decided, we have not done our job. Ask us to say it again in plainer terms. We will.

Timing matters

Tax problems compound. Estates get contested. Partnerships that were fine last year are not fine this year. The sooner there is a plan, the more options are still available.

Straight Answers From Monty Pritchett Since 1992

Talk to Us Before It Becomes a Problem

Most of what we do is less expensive and less painful when it happens early. An entity formed correctly at the start. A trust funded before it is needed. An IRS notice answered in week one instead of month six. If something on your desk is nagging at you, call and ask.
